Modern love has reached a new low. A guy named Kai here in Germany is after a woman named Julia. Julia told him she'd sleep with him, but only once his web site got 111 million page impresisons. Now Spiegel, a big German magazine has an article about it, and Kai's site is, well, odd. Had the day off on Friday, and was too busy to write anything of interest. For all my disappointed fans, take heart - I saw a great exhibition, drove around Germany a bit and saw my Lama, so interesting things to come.

The only place I know of where the Whitlams are at all known outside of Australia is, strangeley enough, Canada. I'm sure that's just a failure of marketing, as it surely has nothing to do with their talent. At times rocky, at times sad, at times sweet and poppy. Check their comprehensive site out, then buy all their cd's if you can find them.

Finally published in English uncensored and in the original pockt-size Japanese format. If you like the movies of Akira Kurosawa, and are open-minded enough to read comics (I'm amazed by how many people still think comics are for kids, regardless of the plethora of literature quality comic book writing out there) check this out. If you've no interest at all in feudal Japan and all the samurai related posturing it includes, forget it. Beautifully drawn, well-paced stories, drama as only the Japanese can achieve when writing Samurai stories.

A jaw-dropper of a film. Enchanting story, stunning cinematography, and the semi-surreal quirkiness you've come to expect from Jeunet. Although this film has its feet more firmly on the ground of reality than his previous efforts Delicatessen and The City of Lost Children it is still reality seen through a filter, and what a beautiful filter it is.
